Happy Thursday everyone!
This new series is getting more fun each time. It is definitely pushing the boundaries on creativity for me. Last week, I showed how a simple basic black turtleneck paired with a boucle jacket and a maroon color denim legging. That look could take you from coffee/dinner with friends to Casual Friday at work.
This week, I’m taking the same basic black turtleneck to a fun place. I wore this outfit a few days ago to one of our favorite restaurants to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary. The skirt is from Zara and is really really old. I think I got it on sale for $29. The tights are from Target and they cost about $5. The Forever21 bracelet is $4.99. The belt is from Armani Exchange and I got this from their Outlet store for $12.99. The leather clutch is a DIY and that cost less than $20. Well, the pumps..let’s just say they are quite up there! I bought them when I sold my company as a reward to myself for enduring those sleepless stressful days and nights.
As you can see, this basic black turtleneck from Gap is very versatile. This top has been my travel companion for as long as I can remember. I hope this post inspires you to get fun with your existing clothes in your closet.

Thank you Glenda! This is one of my faorite skirts!!!
So beautiful, and I never thought I’d say that about a feathered skirt! Gorgeous on you, and proof positive of three things….
1. Proportion is indeed everything.
2. Classic understated pieces work really well with over-the-top pieces!
3. Janise can wear ANYTHING and look stunning.
Thank you Jan! You are always so generous and kin with words!!!
