Welcome to the monthly series, In Her SHOES. Each month the series will focus on anything shoe related from trends to reviews regardless of price. This month I’m really excited to share a pair of mid heel sandals that is really cute and affordable!
Jasmine Embroidered Mid Heel Sandals
Price: $80
Isn’t she gorgeous? TOPSHOP shoes are not new to me. I have several pairs in my closet. I think their styles are cute, affordable, and on-trend – a great way to have fun with shoes without breaking the bank. Keep in mind that their shoes run a half a size larger than usual. So if you are a size 6, order a size 5.5 from them. As mentioned previously when shopping for shoes there are three tricks that I always use whenever I try on shoes to make sure they are comfortable and fit right.
The Late Afternoon Trick
In case you’re not aware, our feet do change as the day goes on. They tend to swell a tad, typically in the late afternoon. That’s the best time to try on any shoe. You want to make sure they fit right.
The One-Inch Trick
This typically applies to stilettos. It is recommended that you should have about an inch between the insole and your heel when you lift your heel up. If you can’t then that means they’re probably too high and you won’t be comfortable.
The Thumb Trick
I do this all the time, especially when trying on pumps. Make sure the space between your big toe and the top of the shoe has about a thumb’s amount of space. You want enough wiggle room so that friction in that area is not created.
Armed with these three rules, here’s my take on the TOPSHOP Jasmine Embroidered Mid Heel Sandals…
The Late Afternoon Test
I tried on these sandals at 3 pm on a Saturday. Well, these sandals fit my feet perfectly.
The One Inch Test
It’s obvious that these sandals are not that high so doing the one-inch test is a moot point. I lifted my heel anyway and it was fine.
The Thumb Test
I placed my thumb on top of the shoe and the space between my big toe and the top of the shoe has about a thumb’s amount of space. There’s enough wiggle room so that friction in that area is not created.
Pros:
They are made of natural raffia and the embroidered flowers are unexpectedly cute. The mid-heels height is quite comfortable, perfect for walking anywhere. The sandals are well-made and look expensive. The best part is that they cover my bunions completely!
Cons:
Well, there isn’t any!
Opinion:
These sandals are my go-to summer shoes and they are to stay for the next few summers at least.

I’ve been wearing these sandals since the purchase. They look chic and stylish with almost any outfit from a plain maxi dress to denim shorts.
I hope you are enjoying this new series as much as I have. I can’t wait to share my next pair with you in July! I hope you will have a wonderful weekend. Until then, I will see you on the blog next week.
