Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a great weekend.
I love family outings. We make an effort to go out at least once a week. We are quite adventurous with food but also very loyal to any places that serve excellent food. A couple weeks ago, we decided to take the boys to Dim Sum. The last time we did a family dim sum outing was when the boys were less than 2. At that age, they didn’t want to sit in the high chairs nor wanting to eat anything at the restaurant. By the way, Dim Sum’s seating is first come first serve based on how many people are in the party. The key is to get the ticket number the minute you get there. My advice is to just march right through the people (hovering near the counter) to get to the lady at the counter who issues tickets. Don’t worry about offending anyone because every Chinese person does the same thing.
I chose this geometric print shirt dress for the venue because I wanted to wear something that was comfortable but colorful. Since this shirt dress was quite loud and bold I decided to pair it with a minimal necklace designed by Stefanie, a Brooklyn-based jewelry designer. She graciously customized this bar necklace to 15″ to fit my freakishly small neck.
Stefanie is also the shop owner for A Common Thread. Her jewelry line features minimal, statement necklaces, geometric shapes and pieces that include fiber and yarn. She focuses on designing fun, versatile jewelry that you can throw on as you’re walking out the door, and know it’s going to work. That’s my kind of style 🙂 You can check out her entire collection here. A few of my favorite pieces are this and this and this.

Thank you, Nicole.
love that beautiful dress. I take my kiddos to dim sum all the time. They love and only eat siu mai and dessert. Haha. The great thing is they get food fast since the carts are coming around as soon as you sit down.

The necklace is beautiful and goes along with my taste, but what I love is your lip stick! Dang girl, you know how to wear it! Mine never stays on long. But I’m also totally lacking in fashion these days.
Anyway, new follower on BlogLovin from the friend connect blog hop. I’d love for you to stop by my blog sometime!
