It is not easy to maintain a consistent social life with your friends once you have a family. I no longer can meet up with my friends on a whim for coffee, dinner, or drinks. Any meeting or venue has to be carefully planned and executed. These photos were snapped a few minutes before our dinner with my friend and former colleague, whom I have not seen in years. I chose a comfortable and casual, but presentable outfit for the occasion. The last time I saw him was when I was going through my divorce. We exchanged a few emails since then, and through those emails he learned about my current hubby and kids.
After months of talking and re-scheduling to have dinner together, we finally made it happen. He’s still just as quirky and sarcastic. Some people may find that type of personality traits offensive but I think it’s charming! The kids and hubby took a liking to him immediately, which made the night even more pleasant. I think he was nachos overdose (the boys kept feeding him nachos!) by the time we were half way through our entrees. We all had a fantastic time and promised each other that we will need to do this more often.

You look amazing Janise and i totally know what you mean about not having time to get together with friends much since having kids. But i do make an effort to schedule girl’s nights in advance. That helps. Glad things worked out and you guys had a chance to get together.

I adore this outfit, but then again, a tunic and leggings is my usual uniform for school, so I might be biased. You’ve definitely convinced me to buy a pair of leather leggings though!
