Hello everyone! Today’s post comes to you from Tiffany Richards. Take it away, Tiffany!
If you’re thinking about popping the question, Christmas provides one of the most romantic opportunities to propose. Besides the engagement ring itself, your partner will associate every Christmas with memories of a truly wonderful moment in your lives.
There is a growing trend across social media and sites like Pinterest to show photographs and ideas centered around surprise proposals. One such website is Serendipity Diamonds who writes about many of the proposals from clients they’ve helped over the years.
If you’re looking for inspiration for how to propose this holiday season, here are 5 ways to combine popping the question with one of the most special times of the year.
Christmas is a very special time, when family and loved ones come together. Whether you choose a surprise moment amongst family or a more intimate proposal, a well-planned, surprise proposal will make Christmas that much more magical.
1. Hang the Engagement Ring as a Tree Ornament
Hang the ring directly on the tree by a small piece of ribbon. As it hangs, a diamond will catch the light, and with subtle prompting it won’t be long before it catches her eye. Either that, or drop to your knee below the decoration.
2. Conceal the Ring Within an Ornament
Why not suggest that you put the tree up together. As you pass her decorations to hang, place a special ornament that opens, to reveal the ring. The decoration itself will stand as a reminder and will be cherished on the tree for every Christmas that follows.
3. Christmas Cracker

What better way to plan a surprise engagement than within a cracker. Instead of a joke, include a note with the words : Will you marry me? Be careful to wrap the ring to protect it, so that it does not get damaged if it flies out of the cracker!
4. Advent Calendar
Carefully open the last window of an Advent Calendar that contains candy. Replace the chocolate with the ring and watch her face as she opens the last window.
5. Last present in the stocking
Bury the ring at the bottom of the stocking. She is certain to almost miss this. If she does, remind her there is one more present. This is a gift she will never forget.
6. Carol Singers
Arrange for friends or a local choir to visit your front door on Christmas Eve. Choose her favorite Christmas Carol and open the front door to listen. Pre-arrange for a member of the choir to present the ring as you drop onto one knee.
7. Santa’s Grotto
Perfect for a couple who already have children. Speak to the organizers of a local Christmas grotto to hold the engagement ring. When you visit with your young children, Santa will have one more present, this time for Mum. Watch her face when he hands her the ring on your behalf.
8. A Sprig of Mistletoe

What could be more romantic than Mistletoe hung, with the ring suspended.
9. Written in the snow
Write four simple words within freshly fallen snow. Will you marry me? Viewed from an upstairs window, she will clearly read the question.
10. Frozen in Ice
Create a fabulous cocktail to celebrate Christmas. Include an ice-cube with the ring pre-frozen inside. She will have to wait a little longer to put on the ring, but what an amazing surprise to find in your glass.

I love hearing the ways people propose! These are definitely some creative ideas. Tyler proposed on Halloween so now every year I will think of his proposal on Halloween. I love it!

Love the idea of hiding it in an ornament!
