This week, I’m sharing my take on Dove’s newly launch skincare, the Dove DermaSeries Skincare.  The older I get the dryer my skin gets, that just comes with the territory even though my eating habits have changed for the healthier and consuming more water than usual.  As part of my latest collaboration with Dove, I use their DermaSeries products on my face and body that’s been harassed by aging and hormonal changes.

The new Dove DermaSeries is a full-range of premium ulta-mild cleansers and intensely moisturizing creams uniquely formulated for people with very to extremely dry skin.  It is most effective when used as a two-step daily regimen.  I was given their complete Dermaseries skincare line which contains products to cleanse and then hydrate.  Here’s my take on their products:

The Claim:

Step One – Cleansers: The facial and body cleansers are ultra-mild and gently remove dirt, oil, and make-up without stripping delicate skin.  The cleansers contain the mildest ingredients that replenish moisture lost during the cleansing process.

Dove DermaSeries ultra Caring Gentle Cleansing Bar:  Intensely moisturizing bar, infused with skin-natural lipids, is specially formulated to provide ultra-mild cleansing for even extremely dry, irritated skin.  It effectively removes dirt, oil, and make-up without leaving skin feeling tight or dry. 100 g/$7.99

Dove DermaSeries Ultra Caring Gentle Body Cleanser:  Specially formulated to provide ultra-mild cleansing for extremely dry, delicate and irritated skin.  It is infused with gylcinate, hydrating glycerin and skin-natural lipids to gently cleanse while replenishing skin’s natural moisture barrier. 6.8 fl oz./$15.99

Dove DermaSeries Ultra Caring Gentle Cream Face Cleanser:  Non-foaming, cream facial cleanser.  It is enriched with skin-natural lipds; specially formulated to provide ultra-mild cleansing for even extremely dry, delicate and irritated skin.  Effectivly removes dirt, oil, and make-up without leaving skin feeling tight or dry. 5.1 fl oz./$15.99

Step Two – Moisturizers:  The moisturizer creams are instensely hydrating moisturizers which quickly relieve any severely dry skin.   Users can immediately see the difference in skin and improved quality over time with continued use.  The creams work best when appliead after using Dove DermaSeries cleansers.

Dove DermaSeries Intense Repairing Body Cream:  Contains the PPAR Activation Complex which replenishes lipids and creates a better quality hydration barrier.  Provides immediate relief of dryness symptoms, while repairing dry and damaged skin over time and continued use. 6.8 fl oz./$17.99

Dove DermaSeries Intense Repairing Rough Patch Treatment:  Contains the PPAR Activation Complex and a blend of natural oils to repair and protect severely dry skin.  Softens thick, rough patches of skin on areas such as elbows, knees, heels and  hands.  Superior in moisturation and reducing the appearance of dry skin to Aquaphor after 24 hours.  3.4 fl oz./$18.99

Mama’s Take:

I’ve been using the Dove DermaSeries products for the past few weeks and all I can say is that their products deliver real results.  Let’s talk about their cleansers first.  I love the fact that their cleansers and creams are hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and paraben free.   My favorite cleansers are the cleansing bar and the cream face cleanser because they really remove dirt and make-up without leaving my skin feeling tight or dry.  The body cleanser leaves my skin soft and supple after each wash even though it lacks lather.

I didn’t think I would like their moisturizers as much.  I was expecting a mediocre product but I was wrong.  Their body cream is really impressive.  My arms and legs are softer after a week of twice-a-day applications.  The Intense Repairing Rough Patch Treatment cream took me by surprise.  I have to say though that this product is quite thick and can feel a bit greasy.  You just have to wait a few minutes to let the cream sink in before you can get dressed.  But this darn product really works…it completely got rid of the dry patches on my elbows, knees and heels after 2 days of twice-a-day applications.

Overall, I really really love the products.  I love the fact that they are fragrance-free and they complement any fragrance that I wear.
