Happy Thursday and welcome to Date Night Style series! Each week I select an item from my closet and style it for that special day or night. This item can be old or new, trendy or classic. Either way the goal is to transform the piece to a date night or day date look.
This week I chose the maxi skirt by Saint Grace from Le Tote and converted it into a strapless maxi dress. Well, what can I say I’m short so I can do that…sorry normal height ladies!!! I added a vest to give this look a bit of an edge. Just because it’s marked as a skirt doesn’t mean you have to wear it as a skirt. It was too long for my height so I pulled it up and it made more sense on my body size and stature. I wore this look for a date night with the boys (not just hubby) a couple nights ago and it was very comfortable.

Oh wow! That so does not look like a skirt at all! You’ve styled this so imaginatively, you look great and I like the addition of the blue.

I normally don’t like my shoes showing when I wear maxis, but I am really loving this silhouette on you, heels included. Love that it is a skirt that you’ve made a dress, and love that you popped that vest over it! Great, great outfit!
Thank you Carylee!

Excellent! I like the surprise of the casual all polished up for evening … and no one would guess it’s a skirt. Sometimes short girls do have an advantage!
Thank you Jan!
Gorgeous outfit! Love all the pops of blue and I love that you made a dress out of a skirt. I do that myself often – with both pencil skirts and maxi skirts – it’s a great way to change your wardrobe up a little 😉
I did it here if you fancy a nosey: http://bit.ly/Uk0JgB
