Happy Thursday everyone!  Welcome to the Date Night Style series.  Each week I select an item from my closet and style it for that special day or night.  This item can be old or new, trendy or classic. Either way the goal is to transform the piece to a date night or day date look.

This week I selected the feather fringe skirt from Zara that I had purchased a few seasons ago.  Whenever I’m in a playful mood I tend to reach for this skirt.  This week has been pretty rough.  It all started with a clogged kitchen sink that turned into a major plumbing problem.  On the same day, our pool guy informed us that the motor stopped working and that by the way it was short circuiting the sprinkler system.  No wonder my garden was dead because it has not been getting any water for a whole week!  A day later, my laptop’s data was completely wiped out by a virus!  To add insult to injury, there was an outage from our internet service provider.  On that same night Dante was waking up in the middle of the night on multiple times crying because his nose was bleeding.  With that I didn’t get any sleep at all.

Things have finally calmed down a bit and gotten better yesterday.  When hubby asked if I wanted to go out and eat instead of cooking I didn’t even hesitate…I was ready to chill!  I was finally in a playful mood and I took this skirt with me to dine at one of our favorite restaurants down the street.  Who knew that a little stripes and fringe outfit kept me cool and chill during a heat wave on a date night.

  1. I can see you got to experience a very challenging week however I am very glad things got better:-) There is a very popular saying that reads: “When life give you lemons, make lemonade” and I am happy to learn that you chose to make lemonade by dressing up beautifully and going on a date with your husband:-) I love the entire ensemble especially the skirt. It is chic and playful and looks really good on you. Thanks for sharing! Blessings to you and your beautiful family, Jeannette

I know! I’m just happy things are better now. Thank you for stopping by Agi!

  3. OH MY GOODNESS WOMAN! You are so beautiful. I love your hair, I was jsut looking at a hair tutorial to do something like this, but I quickly regarded it as impossible considering my braiding skills and unruly locks!
If you can believe it I just watched Frozen and am now coveting braids in a big way. As for your drain, pool, sprinklers and nosebleed (poor kid) situation….take a deep breath in and out and know that somewhere out there someone is jealous YOU HAVE A POOL!!!

Everything will be fine I’m sure, take solace in knowing this skirt stripes combo is impeccable.

I also wanted to invite you to come by my blog next Tuesday. I am hosting my first ever link up dedicated to Real Mom Style as part of my real mom street style series. I’ve made the linkup very easy (no badges etc) I just really want to showcase fabulous moms and their style.

Thank you for your support, Angie! After I braided my hair my twins kept calling me “You’re Anna!” LOL! It was so hot that I decided to braid my hair. Thank you so much for the invitation. I will bookmark your site so that I will remember to stop by and link up!!!

  4. I never would have worn this 2 items together but it really works. Your skirt is so adventurous and fun. You look great!

I didn’t either! I wanted to wear the skirt but the only top that was comfortable and light that also didn’t require a belt was this blouse I found in my closet.

  5. Oh my – that’s a lot of things gone wrong. I just adore everything about this outfit. Love the braids in your hair to that gorgeous skirt!! I have been wanting a fun feather skirt like this but just can’t justify getting one since it wouldn’t get much love.

BTW, I host a weekly link up on Thursdays and hope that you can join me.

  6. I have had sort of a rough week, too! Just a lot of things going on and today I was headed out to have lunch w/ a friend I hadn’t seen in months and the school called and my son had a rash! Ugh! This dress looks so hot on you! Wow! I also can’t believe you braided your own hair and it looks so beautiful! I’d love for you to stop by What Wives Wear and link up this week! curlycraftymom.com
