We are living in a technological age where information and multimedia are readily available at our fingertips. We can easily google anything for knowledge or watch any shows on any viewing gadgets in any room of the house. In our household, we have one iPad, two iPhones, a couple laptops, and a tv for our viewing pleasure.
As old fashion as it sounds we still prefer to watch our favorite shows on tv. Just like everyone else, we love to gather together and retire to the tv room after dinner. We always make an effort to have family TV night once a week.
Although there are many shows that we can’t watch with our 4 year olds, there are some kid friendly educational shows where we can still watch as a family. Right now, the twins love to watch Chavo, Dinosaur Train, Arthur, Super Why, and strangely The Incredible Hulk (circa 1970). So once a week, after dinner, G would make popcorn with the twins. They can’t get enough of the pops. They love to snack on popcorn and snuggle.
Although there are more choices and viewing gadgets, family TV night with homemade popcorn is a special non-expensive simple pleasure that brings our family together.
