Going to a Concert
To me, the meaning of a true indulgence is to just relax, enjoy, and savor the moment. That’s what I got to experience last weekend. If you have been following me on Instagram then you know that I went to see Culture Club up close and personal at the Greek Theatre. There’s nothing more thrilling than getting plugged into live music and listening to your favorite songs sung by one of your favorite bands. And watching Culture Club in live that night brought me back to my youth.
The highlight of the show was them playing “Do You Really Want to Hurt Me” in its entirety, which is one of my all time favorite songs. They ended the show with a bang by singing “Starman”, a tribute to Boy George’s love of David Bowie. Although I sat near the nose bleed section the entire experience left me with pure bliss. I didn’t have to sit in the front row to enjoy the energy and the ambiance from the band and the audience.
I had no idea that going to a pop concert in my mature life allowed me to relax, enjoy, and savor the moment. Now, that’s a simple indulgence that I don’t mind repeating few times a year. As a matter of fact, I just bought tickets to see my all time favorite band, Duran Duran.
Until next week, I will see you on the blog. Have a great weekend everyone!
