Old Navy Linen Button Down Shirt//H&M Culottes//ASOS Clutch (old, but LOVE this one!) //MGEMI Pumps (sold out, love these though)//BlissfullyFAB Layered Necklaces
Summer is my least favorite season of the year. It is hot and humid. But worst of all, the heat makes me feel irritable, groggy, uncomfortable, dirty, and even lazy at times. Regardless, I have learned to embrace summer every year and my secret weapon to staying cool throughout the entire hot and humid season is in linen clothing. I love wearing linen in the summer because it is highly absorbent and a good conductor of heat. Clothes made of linen possess high air permeability, which allows air to flow through the fabric easily and allows the body to breathe, perfect to combat the heat!
One of my favorite linen items would have to be this closet staple button down shirt. It is easy to style, can be worn all year long and with pretty much anything. I have worn this shirt with skinny/flared denim, midi skirts, denim shorts, trousers, pencil skirts, a-line skirts, wrapped skirts, culottes, and most recently, as a beach cover-up. Basically, you can never commit a fashion faux pas with this shirt. That’s why I always gravitate towards classics when it comes to fashion.
In a couple days I will be traveling to a hot and humid climate (for work, not for pleasure) and this shirt will no doubt be my companion 24/7. Even though I still have a month or so to combat the heat I know I can rely on this shirt to transform into multiple outfits while enjoying the rest of summer, albeit my least favorite season.
