Although our weather here in LA has been acting like summer, the fact is fall is here and the weather is actually getting chillier. Which means, our skin gets drier. Here’s a little fun fact, according to a recent study done by RoC Skincare and Sperling’s Best Places, it was revealed that California ranked #36 in a study of the most wrinkle-prone states. So not only do I have to battle my DNA wrinkles but also the environment. And where I live is a huge contributing factor to how my skin looks and how fast my wrinkles develop.
Even though this may not seem like a big deal when it comes to my beauty routine, it is. One of the reasons is that some of the products that I used during the summer are not the most appropriate for fall. Here are some simple ways that I adjust my skincare routine for fall:
1. Pack on Moisture
The fact is the older I get the drier my skin gets. The colder wind tends to dry out my skin so I opt to add a serum in addition to a more hydrating, richer moisturizer in order to prevent any dryness. I’ve been slathering the RoC® RETINOL CORREXION® Deep Wrinkle Serum on my face before applying the RoC® MULTI CORREXION® 5 In 1 Daily Moisturizer With Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 during the day. I also mix the serum with my foundation for a dewy, radiant look.
2. Exfoliate
It is really important to regularly exfoliate your skin in order to get rid of any dry or flaky patches. I now exfoliate 3 times a week as opposed to 2 times.
3. Use Sunscreen
You shouldn’t neglect all your summer essentials just because fall is here. I wear RoC® MULTI CORREXION® 5 In 1 Daily Moisturizer With Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 every single day. So much so that I can’t leave the house without it.
4. Hydrating Cleansers and Masks.
I’m still experimenting with a couple hydrating cleansers that are good for my skin but I think I might have found the one. I also apply masks to my face 4 times a week as opposed to 3. The masks that I use are not clay and they are packed with vitamins and moisture.
I rely on products from RoC® SKINCARE as well as other products to help my skin stay hydrated. Actually, I’m not the only one in the household. Hubby bought another set of RoC® SKINCARE products for himself as well…yes, he’s in the entertainment field so looking good is a prerequisite. Another fun fact? He uses most of the skincare products I use and his skin is actually better than mine!
