It’s been almost a month since I started going to the office for work. During that time I had to refine my daily and weekly routines. After all, it’s been over 12 years since I had to head to the office to work. It was quite rough at first because I really didn’t know what the daily flow would be for me and my family. The only competent thing I was able to do at the time was getting the clothes ready for me & the boys the night before. Fortunately, hubby was extremely supportive and he told me to just focus on getting ready for work first thing in the morning while he gets the boys ready for school.
That was the BEST thing EVER!
To be specific, during the week I’m up exactly at 6:30. The first thing I do is make coffee – can’t function without a cup of coffee! While that’s brewing I’m in the bathroom styling my hair. Once my hair is done the coffee is ready 🙂 I sip my coffee and eat my yogurt while putting on my makeup then followed by getting dressed. This entire process takes 45 minutes. I then spend about 15 minutes working on the blog before heading out the door. I’m usually at the office no later than 7:45.
Dinner is ready once I’m home 🙂 – it helps when I prepped the food the night before for hubby. I then spend the rest of the time with hubby & the kids – which is not that much. Once they are in bed I spend the rest of the evening prepping the food, clothes, kids clothes, etc for next day. If there’s time left I spend on the blog.
Since hubby works on the weekend I get to spend that entire time with them. This truly is a 50/50 in terms of splitting up the work but I know we both put in 100% because a marriage is 100% not 50%.
I don’t know how other moms do it when they have to do everything, especially the single working moms. You want to look decent for work but at the same time your priority is taking care of your kids and getting them to school all on your own.
I’m loving this new routine because I appreciate my time with my husband and my kids more than ever. I have to count my blessings every day. I can not be where I am today without the full support from hubby and the kids. This makes me want to be a better person, wife, and a mom every single day.
