I was recently contacted by one of my twins’ classmates’ mom. She was looking for her son’s shirt that might have been misplaced at one of the twins’ cubicle – they are located right next to each other. After going through the hamper and the twins’ backpacks I couldn’t locate the shirt.
It turned out that the shirt was stuck in the dryer, which I found a day later. Apparently, hubby had done laundry and somehow washed the shirt (along with other twins’ shirts and pants) and left that batch in the dryer overnight.
I’m sure this isn’t something new for all the moms and dads out there. As a matter of fact, toys, lunch boxes, packpacks, clothing are commonly misplaced, lost or exchanged at school.
I had the same struggle when the twins first started their Pre-K. Their lunch boxes as well as their water bottles were identical not just with each other but also with some of their classmates. My solution? Permanent markers with the names written on these items. The problem? It wasn’t a permanent solution. It worked for a couple weeks then the ink slowly came off. I guess permanent markers are not human sweat resistance!?
Then I found Stickerkid. They make labels that are durable and cute to help kids keep their belongs in a fun, cute way!
For the past few months, their backpacks, lunch boxes, water bottles, and their jackets have had these labels with their favorite superheros affixed to them. This definitely eliminated my time to chase other parents or school for their missing items. It also helps the twins not having to fight to get their toys back – because we all know how tough it can be to convince a kid that that’s not his/her toys.
Disclosure: I was provided with products from StickerKid in exchange for a review. As always, all opinions are my own.
