Happy Halloween!

The brocade trend is becoming the rage.  This is one of the trends that I’m really excited about this fall.  I love the rich jewel tone colors, luxurious fabrics made of silk and precious metal threads, and the wild patterns of stems, leaves, and tendrils. It’s no secret that this material has been worn to convey social status for centuries throughout China and Europe, is now having a moment for the modern women.

How to pull off this trend without looking like an overstuffed armchair?

 Here are my two cents:

    1. It’s a striking material so go for clean, structured lines in modern shapes such as a blazer, or a pencil skirt like this one I’m wearing.
    2. Pair it with solids and never ever matching counterparts, then you WILL look like an overstuffed armchair or curtain.
    3. Accessorize it!  Yes, you can transform any neutral outfit into a style statement by just a touch of the trend with a shoe or bag

Brocade is so striking and unique that you can’t help but want to wrap yourself in it.

What I wore
