If you are following me then you know living healthy is important to my family and I. We strive to eat non-gmo, non-toxic, and organic food whenever we can. We also add healthy spices and herbs to our daily diet.
One spice that both hubby and I have been eating on a nightly basis is Turmeric. It all started when I was able to recover from a cold completely in less than 6 days with this spice. Ever since then turmeric became one of our before-bed rituals.
In case you have not heard, turmeric is one of the most highly valued medicinal roots in the alternative and natural remedy because it provides a highly powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effect.
A couple weeks ago I decided to try mixing turmeric with almond milk. Both hubby and I loved almond milk because of its health benefits. However, we decided to stop drinking almond milk four years ago because of the carrageenan ingredient, a possible cancer-causing ingredient. At the time the studies were inconclusive but it was confirmed in 2015.
It took us almost two years to decide to drink almond milk again. And the only brand that I trust is Califia’s Farm (no, this is not a sponsored post from them) because it is Carrageenan Free!
Today I’m sharing what this turmeric almond milk latte tastes like and how you can make it yourself in less than 2 minutes easily. No worries, you don’t have to buy a latte maker!
This turmeric almond milk latte has nothing else but turmeric and almond milk. It is very raw. It tastes bland but it is not unpleasant. I love how calm it makes me feel before I go to sleep. I also love how this turmeric almond milk makes my stomach feel – less bloated and eases any pain like cramps that I may be experiencing. But, hubby doesn’t like the taste of it at all. He prefers to add honey for the sweetness.
Here’s how you can make this latte at home – honey is optional.
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon of turmeric
12 oz. almond milk
1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
Directions:
Add turmeric and almond milk to a pan and bring it to a boil. Stir and add honey (optional).
