Welcome to the Living in Los Angeles monthly series where I write a short recap of the high’s and low’s of living in Los Angeles each month.
The weather in March in Los Angeles is typically from 51°F to 53°F with a little less rain and slightly more sunshine. However, unlike previous years March has been feeling extremely warm with lots of sunshine and very little rain.
Overall, March was another busy month for us from business travel to the death of my iMAC. Here’s how we survived March in strides!
MACBOOK PRO
Last week, I had the most uneventful situation happened. My “vintage” iMAC decided not to wake up one night and it wouldn’t respond to anything, I was devastated because I had a lot of our family photos on that machine.
I immediately called Apple Support but they couldn’t schedule an appointment for me without a serial number. And of course, the serial number is found on the screen, which was not responsive at the time. Unbeknownst to the support person and me, the serial number is also located underneath the stand, which I found out after I took it to the Apple store.
The Genius Bar was so busy that I had to be put on their next day’s walk-in queue, which was a complete disaster because I received 6 different appointment times within a four-hour window and took almost all night to resolve my issue. Long story short, I walked out with a new MacBook Pro because my vintage iMac was on its last leg. Sadly, my family photos were not salvagable.
GENWA KOREAN BBQ IN BEVERLY HILLS
Hubby and I met up with our friends for dinner at Genwa in Beverly Hills a couple weeks ago. This place serves Korean BBQ and it’s one of the best Korean BBQ I have ever had. The place was extremely clean and the food was very tasty. The service was excellent too. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a good Korean BBQ.
STRANGER THINGS
I don’t watch a lot of TVs but there are certain shows that I wouldn’t mind sitting down for a couple hours to chill and enjoy. One of those shows is Stranger Things. It’s a sci-fi thriller of paranormal and supernatural that takes place in a small town in mid-America during the 1980s. It pays homage to pop culture of that decade, which I really love because as an 80s child I couldn’t get enough of it. Watching this show made me realize how simple life was back then – slower pace with no mobile phones, no emails, no etc. Season 3 is in the making and we can’t wait to see it. This is highly recommended if you are into sci-fi thriller stories.
DESCANSO GARDENS
My twins love hanging out at Descanso Gardens in La Canada, California because they love nature. We frequent this place throughout the year because there’s always something to see from colorful spring bloom and winter camellias to the year-round majesty of oak trees. This place is beyond gorgeous.
My kids are goofy so they love to mediate in front of the Japanese pond whenever we stop by the place. So…I’m not sure if Dante (shown in the picture above) knows what he was doing that day but anything to get him sitting still I’m all for it!!!
Until then, our next adventures await!
