I was asked by Carusele to participate in the #WalgreensBeauty campaign, sponsored by Walgreens. Although I have been compensated, all opinions are my own
Those who know me know that I love to travel. And I especially love to travel light. There’s something about seeing the world without all that baggage. At least once a year, I do a girls trip and a family trip. This year is no exceptions. My sisters and I are planning a trip to Paris this fall and in just a few days my family and I will embark on an eleven-day cruise on the Baltic Sea.
As a busy mom of twins, I need products in my life that work but not overly expensive and keep up with our busy schedule, especially when it involves travel…I’m sure you feel the same!
Regardless of where I travel, I’m a stickler for packing the necessary items with me each and every time. Here are my travel must-haves and why they accompany me on every single trip:
1. SUNSCREEN
I’m an SPF addict traveling or not. I even got my entire family addicted to it. My kids know the drill every morning before school and every time we are out and about. Suffice to say, SPF is a skincare necessity in our home. That’s why it’s not a surprise that you will find a few bottles safely tucked away in our luggage whenever we travel. We are leaving in a few days and the first item on my list to pick up is this Walgreens 50 Kids Continuous Spray Broad Spectrum SPF 50 Sunscreen UVA/UVB Dye Free Oxybenzone Free and Water resistant – perfect for my kids for those beach and pool activities.
2. WALGREENS NAIL POLISH REMOVER
I never neglect my nails, and traveling is no exceptions. I only apply gel nails but they would only last up 10 days the most. I recently noticed these nail polish remover pads from Walgreens and picked up a couple packs. They are perfect to travel with. I can clean up the chipped polish on my nails at the tail-end of my trip to let my nails breathe and get rid of the pads after. Simple and easy.
3. WALGREENS HYDRATING FACIAL WIPES
I have never gone to bed without washing my face since my 20s. It’s equivalent to oral hygiene. I won’t be able to sleep without brushing my teeth and washing my face. I love packing facial wipes with me on my trips because I can easily get rid of them once I’m done. Lately, I’m so into these Walgreens Hydrating Facial Wipes. They are gentle on my face and easily remove dirt and oil while moisturize and soothe my skin.
4. FACIAL CREAM
I use an SPF moisturizer on my face every morning before applying makeup. As I get older my skin gets drier so it is very important to keep my skin hydrated and supple at all times. For my night routine, I never go to sleep without putting on night cream. I love waking up a softer skin in the morning.
5. WALGREENS FIT 3-BLADE RAZOR
So Asians are known not to be hairy but I come from a hairy family. My hair grows like weeds. I literally have to shave every other day so I need to pack razors with me on trips where I will bare my legs or sport a bathing suit. I’ve been using this razor by Walgreens and will be packing it with me on this trip because it gives a good shave without the stubs.
6. WALGREENS 70 DRY TOUCH SPF 70
I don’t like to carry the entire SPF bottle with me when we are out an about. What I love about the Walgreens 70 Dry Touch Broad Spectrum SPF 70 UVA/UVB is that I can easily carry this sunscreen stick with me where ever I go for re-application. It is lightweight, easy to pop in my purse, goes on dry for quick applications.
7. HAT
Whether you are slathered with sunscreen or not wearing a hat is important to keep the rays away. I always pack a hat with me for my travels, especially for sunny places.
8. WALGREENS HYDRATING FACIAL MIST
I didn’t carry a facial mist with me until a couple years ago. I bought a really expensive one because of the rave reviews but that didn’t work too well for me. It burns my eyes. I still have that bottle sitting along with my other beauty items to remind me that just because an item is expensive doesn’t mean it works. I love this facial mist by Walgreens because it contains cucumber, rose water and hyaluronic acid, which is so good for your skin. This facial mist is free of parabens, phthalates, sulfates, and not tested on animals. And it is very affordable!
9. VITAMINS
I take my vitamins on a daily basis and I never skip them. If the trip is short I usually put them in a ziplock bag. But for this trip, I’m bringing the entire bottle.
10. HEALTHY SNACKS
I don’t snack. Ever. But I always snack whenever I travel. My favorite snacks are Nice! nuts and beef jerky. You can also get them at Walgreens. My kids love them too and because they are healthy and nutritional.
One of the places that I love to stop by to stock up these items for home and abroad is Walgreens. In case you haven’t noticed, Walgreens recently relaunched their beauty brand called Walgreens beauty, formerly known as Studio 35, that offers makeup tools, bath and body, and skin care options.
I can’t recommend their products enough. Whether you are traveling or not these products are great for everyday use. Try them for yourself and let me know what you think!
