Welcome to the Living in Los Angeles monthly series where I write a short recap of the high’s and low’s of living in Los Angeles each month.
The May weather in Los Angeles typically hovers between 78°F to 68°F. However, it’s been feeling like 58°F to 68°F on most days. I think spring is finally back!
May has been a hectic busy month. My brand new laptop had a crack on the screen and needed repair. Hubby pulled his back a few days ago and I got the flu. I was so sick that I was not able to sleep for a few nights. My twins got sick too. On a positive note, I was asked to participate in a discussion in NYC. More on that later. I was sick while traveling and that wasn’t fun at all.
Here’s how we survived May in strides!
NEW CAMERA
We’ve been shopping for a travel camera that would have all the features of a DSLR camera. We decided on the Fuji Xt20 because the quality is so much better than other portable point and shoot cameras. It is not cheap but I’ve been so impressed with the quality of the images that the investment was well worth it. One of my 7-year-old twins took this photo with this camera…it’s lightweight and so easy to use that even a toddler can maneuver this camera. I can’t wait to share our trip photos with you taken with this camera.
RUE 57
I met up with a blogger friend for dinner at RUE 57 in Manhattan. I couldn’t believe how busy the restaurant was during the week. Well, the food was great and they really captured the French essence from the decor to the food. I felt like I was back in Paris.
HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN
We binged watch Highway to Heaven. TV series like this are no longer made. I really enjoyed the storytelling of this show. At times it’s hokey but certain scenarios really put things into perspective. I love the fact that there’s hardly any nudity, foul language, or violence – perfect show to watch with your family.
DISCOVERY CUBE
We visited Discovery Cube because our twins love science. They’ve been there before with their classmates as part of the field trip. Both of them have been raving about this place since then. Their favorites are the Santa Ana Wind and Tornado simulators. Overall, this is a fun and educational place that you and your kids will enjoy.
Until then, our next adventures await!
