We can’t seem to escape the heatwave every summer.  It’s been a scorcher here in LA since last Friday – we are talking about surpassing 100 degrees!  Although the temperatures are slowly descending under 100 we never know when the next heatwave will strike us again before the summer is over.

I personally don’t like the heat because it makes me sweat a lot and melts off my makeup at the same time.  It also makes me feel lethargic, tired, and grumpy.  And when I don’t look and feel good I can’t get things done properly because I feel like a mess.

So every summer I would practice a few tips to stay cool and stylish while avoiding possible heatstroke.  When it comes to choosing what to wear I reach for breathable fabric like cotton or linen that won’t cling to my skin. I go sleeveless whenever I can to avoid any sweat stains.  I opt for light colors like white and pastels.  This dress that I’m wearing in these photos fits the bill.  I also wear minimal makeup with just a CC cream, mascara, and lipstick to minimize sweat streaks on my face.  But most importantly, I drink plenty of water.  If I have a glass of wine I double my water intake.

Although summer is mid-way through I’m grateful for those wonderful weather in June.  As long as I continue to practice these tips I should be able to beat another heatwave.  If you follow these tips you should be able too!
