Following the August heat, September still remained extremely hot for the first couple weeks in Los Angeles.  Unlike August, September was quite busy and chaotic for us –  prepping for the kids’ back-to-school took up most of our time.  But we managed to squeeze in some fun along the way.  Read on to see how we survived September in a joyful way…

BEACH

los angeles

A friend of mine invited us to her beach house rental in Newport Beach for the day.  The boys had so much fun that they didn’t want to leave.  Well, I didn’t want to leave either because it felt so nice not having to do anything.  I was able to chill, relax and let my brain unload.

SKY ZONE

The Sky Zone activity was a very last minute decision.  We’ve been talking about going there for quite some time and so a couple weekends ago the hubs decided to just pull the plug and take the kids there.  Due to the location of the place we circled the area a few times for at least 15 minutes.  We finally did manage to find the place later and the twins had an amazing time bouncing around.  Mamas, this is the best sleeping remedy for kids!

FAITH AND FLOWER

I met up with a few blogger friends for brunch at Faith and Flower.   One of the pros of social media is that it has brought so many people from different cultures and walks of life into my world.  I have made some incredible friends over the years, from cities/state/countries near and far – I truly feel so grateful for it all.  We spent hours talking and I felt like I was talking to my old friends with so much to catch up on. Time flies when you’re having fun because by the time we were done the restaurant had closed to prep for dinner service.  I had the arugula salad with trout and it was quite tasty.

One can say that this restaurant is quite stylish but the overall ambiance, food, and service is worth the trip to trek all the way to downtown.  And definitely an Instagram worthy place 🙂

THE SECRET GARDEN

We were so happy that we found The Secret Garden movie on Netflix.  We recently finished reading the book to the twins and they absolutely loved it.  This movie (1993 version) was really well made – well directed, well acted, beautifully filmed with great music, and just utterly delightful to watch.  A classic!

Until then, our next adventures await!
