I was not a big fan of pastels until a few years ago. Although I love the easter egg inspired shades it can be tricky when it comes to incorporating pastels to the wardrobe. I love the desaturated shades because they look delicate without overly feminine, which is ideal for spring. The shades are also perfect to wear on Easter Sunday – so ethereal and romantic.
Throughout the years I have learned some fashion tips on how to wear pastels without looking like I’m going to an Easter parade. Here’s how you can also pull off this ultra-feminine hue…
GO MONOCHROME
Less is more is also true about this hue and you can pick a single shade for an entire outfit if you want to go elongate and slim down your silhouette.
MIX WITH NEUTRALS
I highly recommend mixing this print with neutral tones such as black, white, and brown to calm things down. A great example is my outfit in these photos where I styled the pastel blue dress with white sandals to balance the girly nature of the shade.
You can never go wrong combining pastels with black, another neutral color because the dominant black color helps create a modern and polished look effortlessly.
PASTEL ON PASTEL
I didn’t know about this until a few years ago where all pastel colors can look amazing with each other. You can mix and match more than two pastel shades in a look.
I hope you are still enjoying this What To Wear With series as much as I have. Here, I have rounded up some beautiful pastel items that you can mix and match with – all under $100!
