Proper hair maintenance is important because having healthy hair can help avoid extensive damage that can lead to hair loss. If you are a Mama in Heels regular then you know I have a love/hate relationship with my hair – it grows extremely fast, which I love but I also have to tame my gray root.
Thankfully I’m able to cover those grays temporarily in addition to coloring my own hair with products that are made with scalp and hair moisturizing vitamin E for shiny healthy hair. Here are some of the simple tips I religiously follow to keep my hair from looking dull and lifeless while covering my grays.
HAIR MASQUE
Similar to my skin I do my best to care for my hair. Once a week, I apply this leave-in treatment to revitalize and strengthen my colored hair. I often multitask and do household chores while waiting for the leave-in treatment to finish.
HAIR COLORING
I do my own hair coloring every few weeks to hide the grays. I use products like Zotos Professional AGEbeautiful Anti-Aging Permanent Liqui-Creme Hair Color that are made with scalp and hair moisturizing vitamin E for shiny healthy hair. My hair is naturally dark but I stick to the darkest brown color, which is within two shades of my natural base. This shade gives my hair the natural-looking hue without being too harsh or bold.
HAIR GLOSSING
I have to admit I don’t gloss my hair often enough. I need to do this at least once every two weeks instead of every other month. Hair glossing helps to tone color and add luster. This doesn’t change my roots much but it sure makes my hair shinier and prettier.
TEMPORARY ROOT CONCEALER
Gray hair looks lifeless and dull. Since my hair grows faster than the speed of light, I use the best root concealing product to hide those grays but leaves my hair with lots of shine and full-color coverage. The Zotos Professional AGEbeautiful Root Touch-Up Temporary Hair Color is very easy to apply and the color stays put until I shampoo it out.
HAIR VITAMIN
Our hair is an extension of our skin so it needs to be fed with vitamins and supplements. Aside from healthy eating I also take hair vitamins and supplements to get stronger, fuller hair.
BEACHY WAVES
I have very straight hair but I love creating beachy waves on my hair. When my hair is wavy or curly, the roots appear short and not as noticeable.
HAIR PARTING
I’m a creature of habit and love to part my hair in the center. It wasn’t until a few months ago that my hairstylist recommended that I should part my hair differently from a side parting to zig-zagging. These methods can help break up the root area, making the re-growth of gray hair less apparent.
HAIR TRIM
I visit my hairstylist every 2 to 3 months just to get a trim to get rid of split ends. It’s also my “me time” for some nice pampering while caring for my hair – a win-win!
These hair maintenance tips have helped me save time and money so that I can focus on things that matter most like my family and friends.
