Dress: Emploi New York c/o | Heels: By Malene Birger (similar style) | Necklace: Forever21 (similar style)
Happy Monday everyone! Hope you had a fantastic Halloween celebration.
I’m really excited to share my recent feature on Emploi New York as their Emploi of the Month for September! This is such an honor and you can read about my interview here!
I’m a firm believer of no matter what your profession you should dress for the job you want not the job you have. I’ve been in the professional world for over 20 years and have always dressed business appropriate, most often than not, well beyond my job title at each job. Yes, the education, knowledge & experience have a lot to do with getting ahead, but so do having the ability to look the part. Even actors and actresses dress for the part they want whenever they audition for a role!
You don’t have to spend a fortune to buy a kick-ass capsule collection for work. There are so many affordable places offering quality items that are easy on your wallet. Emploi New York is one of them. Their line offeres women to look both office appropriate and chic simultaneously while feeling confident at the same time. Ultimately, they wanted to give a business girl a dress that would not break her bank, that would fee great against her skin while remaining sexy, and that not only would give her a shot at that corner office but also to the boardroom.
This Houndstooth Maiden dress from their Fall collection will let you stand out amongst the Zara/Ann Taylor uniform crowd. Add a blazer if you want a more structure look then switch out for the ultimate statement necklace for a night out. I have worn this dress a couple times for client meetings and conferences and I’ve never felt more confident.

Thank you Audrey. I love this dress. It hugs me in all the right places and doesn’t show any skin but still feel sexy & smart!
Gorgeous!
Thank you Sherry!
You look absolutely office chic perfect Janise, and I completely agree with the ethos of dressing for the part – as human beings we naturally make judgements and assumptions based on appearance, and I also think that people just work better when they feel confident in what they wear. Thanks for linking to #AllAboutYou!
I totally agree, Zaz! Thank you for stopping by!!!
