Do you get your nails done often? I do. Every week. The process at a salon can get expensive and time-consuming. For me, I like to do them on my own. It’s therapeutic and also saves money. I do them so often that I think I can paint my nails with my eyes closed.
On this blog, I talked about how you can prolong your manicure. Yes, it comes with a price – time. I have also explored at home gel nails and salon gel nails for special occasions before. Most often than not, my nails would last 5 days the most with 1 or 2 peeling off the nail beds completely. Not a great thing to have to return to the salon to get them fixed. That’s not so great either when you are traveling, which I had experienced on my trip back in July.
Since I love testing new products, I knew I had to try the Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish when I stumbled upon them at a drugstore. For the past few weeks, I have been using their Gel Couture Nail Polish in Model Click. I love the burgundy color because it’s not too black but has a bordeaux tint that is on trend for fall. Their top coat is spectacular! It dries really fast with a glossy finish. You can actually use this top coat over your regular nail polish but it would only last up to 4 or 5 days the most. The best part is you do not need a LED or UV lamp!!!
Although the Essie Gel Couture Nail Polish does not last up to 14 days as claimed, 10 days with some chips was pretty good. Last week I decided to remove them on day 6 and let my nails breath for a day before the next application. What I love most about them is that I don’t have to worry about re-applying my nail polish every 3 days. Just like a regular nail polish, the gel nail polish comes off easily with a regular polish remover or acetone.
They retail at $11.50 per bottle – not cheaper than the normal polishes but still affordable compare to a nail salon visit. You can find them at most drugstores or Nordstrom. And no, this is not a sponsored post.
