In case you have not heard, Pantone’s color of the year 2019 is Living Coral. This color has a little pink, a little orange but with a strong impact of a citrus shade.
You bet that the pressing conversations of the environment and climate change have shaped the influence of this year’s color and there’s a message behind it. “We get energy from nature,” a statement from Pantone reads. “Just as coral reefs are a source of sustenance and shelter to sea life, vibrant yet mellow Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.”
When I see the color of coral, it immediately conjures up images of beautiful tropical places like Palm Beach, the Caribbean, and Hawaii.
Here’s how I would rock this color to provide comfort and zest in our everyday life while looking stylish…
GO ELEGANT IN BROWN COLORS
The vibrancy of coral looks so elegant with browns like these photos here because it jibes with the shade’s warm undertones.
GO TROPICAL
If you want to go for that tropical look then mix this color with white or turquoise. And if you really want to have fun mix this color with yellow, the color of sunshine!
TONE IT DOWN WITH NEUTRALS
Neutrals pretty much go with any colors and coral is one of the best matching colors to pair with. For an understated monochromatic look, you can dress up in a single coral dress and pair it with a pair of nude pumps and nude handbag.
ACCESSORIZE
If coral is not your thing but wants to have fun I would suggest going monochrome all in beige, black or white and add a coral bag, shoes, or jewelry to accentuate your individuality.
If you love this color and want to have fun with it I would highly recommend this top that is currently on sale for less than $26, this $20 sweater, or these stretchy trousers for less than $25.
