Do you have a solid summer wardrobe to beat the heat? Although summer officially started back in mid-June I feel like it had just begun for me. I’ve been away to a winter place for a family vacation and just returned to the states last week -just in time for the LA heatwave!
I personally don’t like the heat because it makes me feel tired, groggy, less productive and not motivated.
Every summer I have a set of clothes I wear on repeat to beat the heat. When it comes to my summer wardrobe the less I wear the better.
The first thing I did after returning home from vacation was cleaning out my closet in preparation for my summer wardrobe. I let go of some past seasons’ summer trends like the gladiator sandals – they are just outdated and really are a pain to put on.
From the minimal strappy sandals to beach-ready kaftans, these are my 5 must-have styles for summer.
BARELY THERE STRAPPY SANDALS
The best shoe investment I have ever purchased this year are these minimal leather strappy heels. They are comfortable and very versatile. I can pair these heels with any items from my closet for day or night endlessly.
IT-BAG
I love to carry a no-fuss handbag in summer. I love my crossbody bag because it is polished but not stuffy and can really tie a look together. This season is all about the pearls. If you want to play with this trend invest in a bag that is not so expensive and commit to wearing it for the duration of the summer.
DENIM SHORTS
I live in denim shorts in the summertime. They are comfortable and stylish. ‘Nuff said!
SMOCKED DRESS
Smocked sundresses scream more summer than any other styles. I get to parade my 10+ years tie-dye smocked every summer because this style is a classic!
KAFTANS/CAFTANS
I didn’t start wearing kaftans until recently. I find them very versatile and the best beach cover-up to hang out at the beach

Hi Janise! I am not a fan of the heat either but living in LA and having a second home in Arizona I don’t have much choice in the summer but to grin and bear it!! I love all your choices! Denim shorts are a staple for me, especially in the AZ heat! Barbie xo 💕
