knitwearIn case you haven’t noticed knitwear is having a moment.  I know. It’s hot and humid right now and the last thing you want to wear is knits.  I feel the same way.   Let me explain.

I work in an office environment where the temperature can get frosty at times.  To combat the freezing zone, I would wear a sweater or blazer as a coverup but they are too bulky and get in the way.

Then I discovered these neutral knit tanks in eggshell, camel and burnt orange and am pretty obsessed with them since.  They are not thick and bulky, but rather, light and airy – perfect for the frosty overchilled office environment. And they do come in handy when the nights get chilly too.

So HOW does one wear the knitwear trend in a constant mercury rising temperature?  Here are a few ideas…

PAIR WITH DENIM

You can pair anything with denim and can’t go wrong with the look.  I love pairing a knit top with white jeans because they look sleek, feel fresh, and totally stylish.

PAIR WITH WIDE-LEG LINEN TROUSERS

Wide-leg trousers are one of the classic fits.  They look chic and effortless not to mention very office appropriate.

BELTED OVER A FLOWY SKIRT

Skirts are so feminine and versatile.  Belt the knit top over a flowy skirt for a timeless sophisticated effortless look.

My summer wardrobe now includes knits that I can easily transition from summer to fall.  Here are some of my favorite stylish knitwear that you can wear for years to come and they won’t break your bank.
