Year 2021 has been incredible and I am eternally grateful. My wellness goals for 2021 were to slow down to assess what improvements were needed, to regain my balance, and to remind myself of what was going on well.
Without question, health has always been a top priority for me and every year I assess and improve as needed. My focus for this year was to treat my iron deficiency as well as bringing down the level of my bad cholesterol while increasing my good cholesterol. I also started to work out consistently at least 4 days a week to improve my physical and mental health. I’m happy to say that my annual physical exam a couple of months ago was fantastic – blood tests and everything else came back better than expected!
This year I focused a lot on regaining my balance of life. With responsibilities to my family, work, my kids’ activities, or my blog I felt as though I was moving through life as if I had no choices, no purpose, or freedom to pursue my highest values and priorities. This year has taught me to take that control back to manage myself and not time so that I could have a choice about how to live my life, activities to be involved in and people to be in relationships with.
I also started to remind myself of what’s been going on well and be grateful. I’m over 50 and thanks to Hair Biology I do not have any split ends or brittle hair. I’ve been using the Hair Biology Soft & Hydrated collection since the launch.
I was even more ecstatic about their Vivid and Protected collection, a new line introduced this year for color-treated hair like mine. The Color Brilliance shampoo and conditioner provides a softer and silkier hair while the Color Sealing Mask keeps my shade fresh and vibrant. I highly recommend these products if you have not had a chance to try them. They are available on the Hair Care aisle in Target, one of my favorite shopping destinations.
Indeed, 2021 has gifted me with seeds to sow. Seeds were planted for the potential of a better tomorrow, a brighter future, a healthier us more aware of how we truly want to live and engage with the world. I have also discovered that it’s okay to march to the beat of my own drum and that what I am and what my best self can offer is truly special and unique. With great hair in style, I am not shy to own it and embrace it.
Year 2021 is ending but it did put a smile on my face and certainly has ensured an optimistic beginning to 2022.
