Happy Thursday everyone!  Thank you for visiting.

I’m excited to share with you about partnering with JCPenney’s First Day Look campaign collections, which include, Joe Fresh Kids, Dream Pop by Cynthia Rowley, as well as brands like Arizona, Levi’s, and Okie Dokie!  I was given $150 gift certificate to purchase from their back to school collections for the twins plus $25 for their mama 🙂  I have not shopped at JCPenney for a long long time.  I have to admit that when I went to the store to purchase the boys’ outfits I was quite taken aback.  I didn’t realize the huge selections they have for babies/toddlers/kids clothing with great quality and low prices.  I was even more impressed with their women’s clothing selections…very stylish and affordable!  With $175 of gift cards in my hand I was able to purchase 2 pairs of shoes, 2 t-shirts, 2 pairs of shorts, 2 chambray shirts for the boys, and a peplum top for this mama as seen here!

It was a bittersweet shopping experience.  I was excited to shop for the boys and myself.  Yet, at the same time, my emotions were running high.  I realized I couldn’t shop at the babies section anymore and that my boys have grown from babies to toddlers, and will be heading to school very soon.

It’s inevitable that my twin boys (a little over 2) will go to school.  Emotions will run high, especially when they enter the classroom for the first time.  This is the day that starts the transfer from total dependence to total independence.  And it will happen first day at a time and then one year at a time.

Hubby and I want our boys to be strong, confident and be able to stand on their own, so going to school experience will help them develop not just academically, but physically, socially and emotionally.  Go to school is a time of transition for both children and parents.  I’ve heard countless stories from family and friends that many of the tears are usually shed from mothers on this day.  I know I will break down and cry no matter how much I had prepared myself for that day.

Since our boys are currently into drawing happy faces we thought getting them dressed up in JCPenny’s First Day Look clothes and spend the time at their favorite playground with crayons and sketch pads would be fun.  I have to disclose the fact that I let the boys tried on the converse the day before and they refused to take them off.  They cried for a good half an hour because they really really loved those shoes and wanted to wear them to sleep.

Going back to school is an emotional time of year whether your kids are heading off to class for the first time or are seasoned pros.  I know it will be for us when the time comes.  But for now, they are all ours!
