Hello and welcome to my first post! Mamainheels.com is created as a fun and information blog focused on moms that can still look and feel fabulous without breaking the bank. It is created as a platform to provide style inspiration, shopping tips, healthy eating, money management, and a sense of community. I thought the month of November is a great time to start my blog since Thanksgiving is only days away. As I write this, I am filled with nothing but gratitude. Gratitude for our Servicemen and women fighting and defending for peace in our country, for the health of our family (my grandmother is 106 yrs old alive and well) and friends, and most of all for our healthy twin boys’ arrival via IVF.
Having twin boys in my 40s came with many challenges and triumphs. Shortly after I met my husband, we decided to start a family. After numerous attempts we were not successful. I was told by doctors that I should not have problems getting pregnant since I was quite healthy for a woman in my age. On top of that my FSH level (FSH helps control the menstrual cycle and the production of eggs) was low and normal, so I should still have a few more eggs to spare.
Later that year I went in surgery to have fibroids removed from my uterus. During the surgery, my surgeon discovered blockages on my fallopian tubes, which has been preventing me from getting pregnant naturally. So, we were told that our only hope to get pregnant was through IVF. Well, after a couple attempts the miracle twin babies decided to join our family.
