Happy Tuesday everyone!

Getting invited for Thanksgiving/Christmas dinner and don’t know what to bring? Dinner party guests usually bring a hostess gift unless they are close friends who dine together frequently.   I love inviting friends and family to our home for dinner parties, especially during the holidays.  I often get asked by my guests what they should bring.  My usual response is to say no just come over and enjoy the dinner because we don’t need anything.  I soon realized that the response was not exactly right because it usually leaves the guest trying to figure out something that is suitable to bring.

This year I’m one of those guests who gets invited to a Thanksgiving dinner party.  I have compiled a list of suitable gifts that the hostess will enjoy and love even though a bottle of wine or champagne will always do.  I hope your host/hostess will feel the same about this gift guide too 🙂

This specialty Walnut oil (8) comes in an indulgent treat for any cook.  It guarantees to revitalize any vinaigrette.   Pumpkin seed oil (4) is best used to garnish a pumpkin soup with a few artful drops.  A sherry vinegar (1) is always a welcome gift.  It works magic in salads or marinated vegetables.  A bag of coffee beans (3) is always welcome but why not combine tea to the assembled diners?  Or, you can just bring tea (5) only if coffee is not a high choice from diners.  Chocolate (2) chocolate (6) chocolate (7) chocolate (9)…who doesn’t love chocolate?  These will surely make your host/hostess very happy.

  1. What a helpful post! I was invited to a Thanksgiving gathering this year and I was stumped on what to bring. I think I’ll take a close look at this list … maybe the oil.
