Believe it or not, I collect scarves, from acrylic and cashmere to silk and linen.  The weird thing is, I don’t wear them as often as I do with jewelry.  I guess it requires more effort?  And yes, I have seen lots of tutorials on how to wear a scarf in 100+ ways, but I always end up wearing 3 different ways the most from hanging loosely to a two-loop style around my neck.

As I was cleaning my closet over the weekend I found this silk and cashmere scarf bundled up in a box with other scarves.  I have worn this scarf on and off a few times for the past few years.  I thought, aside from being a neck-warmer status, why not upgrade it as a chic layer over dresses and trenches?  So, if you have a thin, long scarf like this one why not tuck it under a belt so the ends hang at uneven lengths.  The look might just surprise you.

Here’s how you can pull it off:

  • Make sure your belt sits higher than your natural waistline for the most flattering silhouette.
  • Pick a scarf that is in the same color family – in other words, stay away from looking too matchy-matchy.
  • Make sure the scarf hits below the knees so your frame is elongated.

Hope you are having a great week so far.  Lunar New Year Celebration is still in full swing for our family.  I am running out of money and red envelopes!!!
