How To Get Radiant Glowing Skin

It’s not easy to get glowing skin when you have mature skin.  Aging skin often appears dull due to lack of elasticity and moisture and comes with increased dryness which accentuates fine lines, wrinkles, and flakiness.  I deal with this every single day because I have aging skin.

I review a lot of skincare products but my beauty regimen has always remained the same – piling on vitamin C, retinol, peptides, and spf ingredients not to mention I also popping on glowing vitamins.  My hope is to have youthful dewy skin with some glow in the mix without looking like a Disney fairy.

Although I’m more of a skincare junkie than a beauty junkie, I love makeup products that would give my skin the glow effect without spending a fortune.

Avon recently introduced their True Color Contour + Highlight Collection that offers a set of products that melts into your skin, creating a naturally luminous glow.

It is important to note that in order to achieve that radiant glowing skin for mature skin, less is more when applying makeup.  You don’t want too much shimmer and/or glitter to settle into lines and accentuate things you likely do not want to accentuate.  I used the Avon  True Color Illuminating Stick and Avon True Color Moonlit Highlighting Powder in Rose Gold in the picture below in seven steps.

STEP 1 – EXFOLIATE

I exfoliate my skin once a week during winter because my skin gets drier during this time of year.

STEP 2 – MOISTURIZE

Apply Vitamin C, Serum, and SPF 30 Moisturizer.

STEP 3 – FOUNDATION

Apply foundation.  My favorite for the past 10+ years is still Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.  It’s a bit pricey but it’s a worthwhile investment.

STEP 4 – CONTOUR

Apply Avon True Color Transforming Contour Stick in Medium color on sides of the nose and under the cheekbones.  You can skip this step but you will love their contour stick because it’s so subtle yet effective.

STEP 5 – BLUSH

Apply blush on the apples of the cheeks.  My favorite blush is Nars in Orgasm.

STEP 6 – HIGHLIGHT

Apply Avon True Color Illuminating Stick in Quartz above the cheekbones.

STEP 7 – GLOW

Lightly dust Avon true Color Moonlit Highlighting Powder in Rose Gold all over the face to get the soft all-over glow.
