So one of the nineties trends is making a comeback.  It’s the fanny pack, belt bag, bum bag, hip bag or whatever nomenclature you prefer to call is dominating the fashion scene!

I was never a fan of the fanny pack because it’s just too touristy and really difficult to style, not to mention it ain’t that stylish to begin with.

The irony is that I do have a belt bag.  It’s vintage. I bought it at a flea market years ago and the bag caught my eye because it was dainty and cute.  The excellent condition and the price sealed the deal. I didn’t know it was a belt bag until very recently. I have always worn it as a mini-bag and it would go with almost everything in my closet.

So how should you wear it if you are fully on board with this trend?  Luckily, this revival is back with a twist and there are so many affordable stylish pieces that can easily be incorporated into your wardrobe.  You can wear it on your hips or through the loops in your favorite pair of jeans.  You can also layer it over the top of a jacket to cinch in the waist. Or wear it around your waist like I did in these photos. This look allowed me to be hands-free yet as stylish as it is functional.

I must admit that after styling this belt bag with this floral dress I have my eyes on a few other ones below.

Thanks, Patti. I’m just so happy that I’m able to wear this bag in so many ways 🙂

  1. I never bought into the fanny pack scene either, but this combination looks beautiful! The purse matches the dress perfectly, making it a timeless look!
