high-waisted trousersI wear a lot of high-waisted trousers to work.  I work full-time in a corporate environment so what I wear to work is just as important as what I say and do at work.  Every season I rebuild my work wardrobe so that it is up to date to avoid looking like I got stuck in circa 1998.

Rebuilding a wardrobe may sound expensive because stockpiling your work wardrobe CAN be expensive.  That is why I love buying pieces that are versatile yet timeless to avoid putting a hole in my wallet.

My work wardrobe consists of blazers, trousers, dresses, and pencil skirts.  I have a particular preference when it comes to trousers because they can make or break your look, especially for a petite statue like me.

Because I am short trousers need to be proportional to my height.  Most trouser standard lengths come in 34-35 inches, which trail on the floor for me.  And most often than not I have to have them hemmed.

The key to finding the right trousers for a petite frame is to make sure the waist and hip areas fit so that you would only have to shorten the hem.

My all-time favorite trouser style would have to be high-waisted wide leg trousers.  They flatter my petite frame and make me look 6 ft tall. They are also timeless so I can still wear them as I age.

To increase the wear mileage I almost always shop for the neutral colors because they can be mixed and matched with the rest of my essentials to create a more formal look as necessary.

Below are my favorite 10 high-waisted trousers that are flattering for short women – with pieces costing less than $90 – so you can make the shopping process an easier and more efficient one.
