mad for plaidI’m still mad for plaid and can’t stop styling with everything I wear like here and here.  I think we can all agree that to a certain extend plaid sounds boring and old.  But what girl can resist a classic print that never goes out of style? I know I can’t.

The plaid print is timeless and my first introduction to this print was back in the 90s grunge era.  The plaid shirts looked great on Kurt Cobain and so many other people, but it just wasn’t for me at the time.  It’s wasn’t my style so since then I subconsciously stayed away from it.

Since then my personal style has evolved.  It wasn’t until a few years ago that I started adding this print to my wardrobe – loved the versatility of being able to mix and match at a moment’s notice regardless of the season.

This print is coming back in rainbow colors and it is having a moment this season.  When I saw this skirt in Zara I knew I had to have it.  I fell in love with the color combination of the green, red, and black.  And the price certainly sealed the deal.

This skirt offers so many variations of styling that it has actually expanded my wardrobe.  Needless to say, I have been having a lot of fun styling the rainbow plaids in general so stay tuned for another post.

As usual, when it comes to styling a busy pattern I pair it with minimal accessories and something neutral for a subtle look.

I know I will always be mad for plaid because this print is a versatile classic style.  And if you are in the mood to have fun with this trend like I have then take a look at some of the pieces below that are affordable and stylish.
