transition pieces

Time to pull out those winter-to-spring transition pieces out of your closet!  I love wearing cozy and warm sweaters but I’m so thrilled that spring has arrived.  We know how tricky spring can get. One day it’s hot and lukewarm. Another day is cold and then hot again.  With this weather unpredictable time of year, I made sure to have a wardrobe that I can seamlessly transition between the extremes.

I have a few key transition pieces in my closet (and I think you have them too!) that can balance the line between winter and spring.  Here is a list of these items that will keep you stylish and comfortable no matter the temperature!

DENIM JACKET

Everyone has a denim jacket in their closet.  It’s a staple piece that is super versatile and will never let you down.  Mine is at least 10 years old and If you don’t have one I highly recommend this for less than $35.  I love layering a denim jacket over a floral dress because you can easily slip it off if the sun really warms up.

ANKLE BOOT

This is another item that you need to have in your closet because this style isn’t going anywhere any time soon.  They can easily be transitioned into by pairing them with skirts, shorts, and even dresses.

CARDIGAN

An open-knit cardigan should be a staple for fall, winter, and spring.  If you travel often then it should be a staple year-round. I love the lightweight style because I can peel off and tie around my neck or waist if the weather gets too hot.

LEATHER JACKET

I love my moto leather jacket and I have had it for years.  Without fail, I  wear it almost year round but more so in spring.  I love to pair it with a slip dress to add a little edge or throw it over a tank with a skirt or skinny jeans to look chic and polished.

TRENCH COAT

This is the ultimate transition piece from winter to spring.   The trench coat is a fundamental piece in every woman’s closet. Who doesn’t love a versatile clothing item that can seamlessly transform any outfit into a sophisticated look in seconds?!  You can wear it casually with a t-shirt and skinny jeans or with a more formal outfit like an LBD or any way you like. It’s a simple ensemble that has an effortless but stylish vibe.

If you don’t have any of the above-mentioned transition pieces in your closet I highly recommend you to invest in them.  They are chic, versatile and never go out of style.
