spring wedding

Guess what?! Looks like I’m going to a spring wedding in a couple of months and I’m so excited! I love attending weddings because it is such a romantic and joyous occasion. I also love dressing up in pretty dresses and indulge in great food and desserts while meeting new people and catching up with old friends that I have not seen for a while.

Shopping for a wedding guest attire can be overwhelming.  You want to look your best but not to upstage the bride because it is her day and it’s all about her.  You also don’t want to look dowdy but yet presentable, respectable and stylish at the same time.

When it comes to shopping for venue outfits like a wedding, I always try to maximize my looks I’ll get out of each piece.  At the same time, I also don’t want my dress to be too wedding specific because I do want to be able to wear it for other non-wedding related venues.  That’s why I’m so thrilled to have found my wedding guest dress and the entire ensemble including these dazzling Filigree Chandelier earrings, metallic Minaudiere, and comfortable nude heels at David’s Bridal.

This floral wrap dress with ruffles is a great example of the versatility a dress can offer.  I can wear it to any venue and look appropriate for those occasions from a garden party event to a beach wedding.  And these nude heels are perfect because they go with just about every color and print!

No matter which wedding venues you are planning to attend this spring and beyond I have all the outfit inspiration you’ll need so you don’t have to spend time looking for them to ease the stress.

GARDEN PARTY WEDDING

I love garden party weddings because they usually take place outdoors.  Which means, you can’t go wrong with pastels or softer hues and there are so many ways to mix and match this feminine color without looking too girly.

BEACH WEDDING

Who doesn’t love to attend a beach wedding – such a romantic setting.  Although casual clothes are appropriate you’ll definitely want to wear something fancier since it is a wedding.  I would definitely look for a dress that moves and breathes well and pair with some cute flats or wedges instead of stilettos.

BLACK-TIE WEDDING

This theme is as close to a red carpet level event as most of us will get! Whenever I see an invite that says black-tie for dress code I automatically look for an evening gown that shines or with embellishments – think beaded belts and sequins.  I love a simple floor-length dress or even a short dress that has beading.

BLACK-TIE OPTIONAL

This can be a bit tricky for some people because you’re not sure if you should go black tie or not.  I think this is more for the guys where there’s leniency in the tuxedo department – they can ditch the bowtie.  For us ladies though I think as long as we stick with a long dress, it should work. And don’t forget to elevate your look with some bold jewels and heels!

RUSTIC WEDDING

I’ve always wanted to attend a rustic/farm wedding because I think they look so fun.  Because this is still a wedding venue I would skip the denim or any blings but opt for a fun hip look like a maxi dress or a floral chiffon frock.  Because you will be walking on barnyard floors and rolling laws I would highly recommend wearing pretty wedges to avoid tripping along the way.

Remember this is a wedding so at all times always remember you’ll want to look relaxed but not sloppy.  This is a venue to embrace your feminine side with billowing sleeves, ruffles, and chiffons. Now that you have all these options the only thing you need to do is to choose just one!

  2. Spring is such a pretty season in terms of fashion! But for those of us with allergies and what not, it’s horrible! Our clothes are so pretty but then our faces are red from sneezing too much. Cute outfits for weddings too!
