Chase Freedom Unlimited Rewards

Thanks to the support from the Chase Freedom Unlimited team, I’ve come up with a plan to use my cash back credit card to help reach my Always Earning goals by creating video content on a weekly/monthly basis.

I have always wanted to create video content, but because I felt that I lacked the knowledge and the skillset to execute, I never took the leap. In addition to that, my shyness in front of the camera didn’t help.

Similar to when I’m working towards professional goals, I’m using the SMART Goals theory/method. If you have not heard of this, SMART goal setting stands for Specific (write out clear and concise plan), Measurable (the ability to track your progress), Attainable (set challenging, achieving goals), Relevant (relevant to the overall plan) and Timely (target finish time).

Chase Freedom Unlimited rewards new cardmembers by allowing them to earn 3% cash back on purchases for the first year, up to $20,000 (and 1.5% cash back after that). In honor of that, I’m dedicating 3% of my day (43 minutes) towards reaching mine. I have been setting aside 43 minutes each day to work on my plan from assessing what I already have in place to what I will need to create professional looking videos.

Here are the steps I’m taking to make my goal of launching my first video come to fruition by August:

HOME OFFICE/STUDIO

In order for me to create meaningful and useful video content, I need to have an adequate working area to support this task. My plan is to set up a studio at home with the right equipment and tools for video recording and production by the end of July.  I set this date because as you read, my family and I are in Argentina visiting our extended family and won’t be back in LA until mid-July.

VIDEO CREATION/PRODUCTION LESSONS

I have also enrolled in some online courses to learn the ins and outs of video making.  My plan is to at least learn the basics by mid-July.

VIDEO CONTENT LIST/SCHEDULE

I’ve been busy compiling a list of content that I’m planning to share in a video format.  Some is from your suggestions via social media and some are based on the most viewed categories on my blog.  My plan is to have a comprehensive list ready by early July.  I will also have a lot of time to compile this list during my 16-hour plane ride to Argentina.

VIDEO LAUNCH

Once I have learned the basics of how to create great video content, and have the right equipment in place, I will share my first video with you in early August, which I think you will love.

My goal is to produce professionally made videos that you could find useful and feel inspired by.  I feel beyond grateful that the Chase team is providing me with all the support I need to attain my goals. It feels so good to know that I’m gaining knowledge and pursuing my goals while earning cash back on my everyday spending.

  1. I would like to learn more about those video courses that you mentioned. Great post by the way!

  2. It’s imperative to have goals in life and those are great ones. I’m very shy in front of the camera also and have not started to do any lives yet.

I know! It’s nerve-racking to be in front of the camera.

With Chase you can earn cash back with your everyday purchases from grocery shopping to getting gasoline for your car 🙂

  3. This is amazing! II wanted to try using the SMART goal for me too. I never knew about this but it seems like a good approach for setting goals. Thank you so much for helping me and I got into your blog at the right time.
