I’m beyond grateful to my family, who have supported and helped me in reaching my Always Earning 2019 goals.  Throughout this process, I have learned so much.  When I first took on this collaboration, I wasn’t sure if I could do this.  I had a lot of self-doubts because let’s face it this is not a very easy process to take on.

But I’m so glad I did.

I now have my own YouTube channel that I can share my content in a closer and more personal way. I have learned so much during this process – the good, the bad, and the struggles!

Let’s talk about the good first.  What surprised me the most about this whole process is that I really enjoyed it.  It was fun and very educational but a lot of work!

The bad was the constant negative thoughts swimming through my consciousness – do I have faith in my content, will it make my viewers stop and stare, and is it useful or good enough?

I had a lot of struggles along the way too. It wasn’t easy.  I had this fear of being on camera.  Whenever the red button was on, I froze.  After so much practicing I became a bit more comfortable, but this is still a work in process for me.

Similar to blogging where I do everything, creating video content requires the same dedication and technical skills.  I have to come up with the concept, write the script, film the video, edit the video, optimize and promote the video.  There’s a huge learning curve that required a lot of my time, which I struggled with the most.

Beyond working full-time in a very demanding job I also have a family that needs my attention and help on a daily basis.  Overall, I felt like I didn’t have enough time to do everything, let alone learning the skills I needed to move forward with my personal goals.

I had to re-prioritize some of the things in my life to reach my personal goals.  My husband has helped a lot by taking on more responsibility than usual.  I also post less on social media and the blog so that I can spend more time to learn how to edit videos and research methods to bring traffic to my channel.

The easiest part of this process was setting up my home studio.  I knew exactly what I needed to do with the area and the type of equipment I needed to purchase for a working studio.  Thanks to my Chase Freedom Unlimited cash back credit card, I earned 1.5% cash back on every purchase, including the equipment. This really helped to push through my personal goals effortlessly.  It’s a wonderful feeling to know that I’m Always Earning on every purchase, bringing me one step closer to my goals.

I came to the realization that YouTube is a marathon, not a sprint – I have to keep moving and while doing so just enjoy the process and learn as I go.
