Welcome to another installment of A Month of Tiny Delights.   Last month my family and I traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina and we did one of these things so that we could slow down and enjoy those blissful moments.

This July I invite you to pause and revel in life’s little tiny delights that can turn a whole day around since it can be hard to slow down at a time in life where everything moves so quickly.

So for this month why not…

LISTEN TO A SONG THAT LIFTS YOUR SPIRITS

delights

I find that listening to music or a song that lifts your spirits can set the tone for the day.   Studies have shown that listening to songs can stir up a mixture of different emotions.   I love cranking up the radio whenever I drive because it makes me feel happy.

FIND A PERFECT PICNIC SPOT

tiny delights

Summer is here and we do our best to enjoy the outdoors in the shade if at all possible.  One of our favorite past times is having a picnic.

COLLECT SEASHELLS

delights

My kids love going to the beach.  One of their favorite beach activities is collecting seashells.  I have participated in several and all I can tell you is that you should try this because it has this soothing and peaceful effect afterward.

GO WHERE THE WIND BLOWS

tiny delights

Sometimes we just have to go with the flow and taking what life gives us as it comes.

HAVE AN AFTER-DINNER WALK IN THE PARK

As a family, we do an after-dinner walk in the park and around our neighborhood at least three times a week throughout the year.  It’s so good for your health and sometimes along the way we get to meet and talk to our old and new neighbors.

PUT YOUR FAVORITE TREASURES ON DISPLAY

If you have it why not flaunt it.  I don’t have any gold treasures per se but since I love collecting bags and shoes I love displaying them in my studio.

TRY OUT A NEW BLEND OF TEA

I enjoy my afternoon tea with chocolate or any sweets every single day.  I’ve been sampling a lot of different caffeine-free teas lately because caffeinated teas keep me awake at night.  It’s been a fun process in trying out different blends of caffeine-free tea.  I urge you to do the same.

CLEAN OUT YOUR WARDROBE

My closet has been out of control for quite some time.  After returning from our vacation I decided to dedicate an entire weekend to declutter, clean and donate items I no longer wear.  It’s a liberating experience and now my closet is very organized and clean not to mention easier to find clothes to wear.

WEAR YOUR FAVORITE SUMMER DRESS

tiny delights

I love wearing dresses during the summer as they’re so versatile and comfortable.

SEND A HANDWRITTEN LETTER

Living in this wired world, the handwritten letter has become something of a lost art.  Realistically, it’s more convenient to send an email or text message than a handwritten note.  However, to most people like me, handwriting still holds a place close to my heart.  Getting a handwritten letter/card in my mailbox means more to me than a text, email, or social media message.

This July, whether you are outdoor or indoor given the hot weather there’s still plenty of time to do one or all of the above tiny delights to turn your day around.
