This April I invite you to pause and revel in life’s little blissful moments that can turn a whole day around since it can be hard to slow down at a time in life where everything moves so quickly.  I hope you have been enjoying our monthly A Month of Tiny Delights so far.  So for this month why not…

DO NOTHING AFTER A LONG TRIP

The purpose of a vacation is to relax and enjoy yourself.  Often times though I feel like I needed a vacation after my vacation.  So after each vacation, I take a day or two to relax and recuperate (basically not doing anything) before heading back into the office.

TRADE YOUR WINTER COAT FOR A LIGHT SWEATER

april

If you haven’t already it should be time to trade your coat in for a light sweater because spring has already sprung.  The weather here in LA though has been quite fickle but it is warm enough that we no longer need to carry a coat with us.

MAKE YOUR OWN PESTO

I love making my own pesto sauce because it is easy, healthy, economical, and tasty.   It’s also a meditating process for me.

ROCK A BOLD OUTFIT

Every so often I love wearing a bold outfit because I love trying new styles.  And it makes me happy.  So why not try it for yourself.  It may surprise you.

BUY A SOFT FLUFFY TOWEL

I’m a sucker for fluffy and soft towels.  I feel instantly relax and calm.  Honestly, who likes stepping out of the shower and wrapping up in a scratchy, stiff towel?!

PLUCK YOUR OWN HERBS

Growing your own herbs has so many benefits.  You’ll save a lot of money, fresh herbs do taste better than dried and your food wil definitely taste a lot better.

BREAKING OUT THE BIKE

Spring is the best time to Tour de Town with your bike, especially in April.  It is fun and a great fitness buddy without the sweats.

HAVE A QUIET MEDITATION

This is something I struggle to learn with every day.  I want to meditate but my mind can’t sit still.  The hubs have been meditating since his teens and he loves it!  There’s no denying that meditating has so many psychological benefits.  It can reduce stress-related conditions such as anxiety and depression.

GO OFFLINE

Going offline is so good for your sanity.  If you can try to disconnect from email, social media, and internet for even 2 consecutive hours each day and you will see how calm you can be.  I try to disconnect on the weekends so that I can spend my offline time with my family.

CALL AN OLD FRIEND UNEXPECTEDLY

This is something I need to work on.  I love texting because it is easy and convenient.  However, I think that it would be great if I get an unexpected call from an old friend would make my day.  So why not make theirs!

April is the month where trees and flowers begin to “open” and “bloom.”  So if you are feeling down why not try any or all of the above tiny delights to turn your day around.
